Poirot & Other Media Coverage[edit]
Quilter Street has been widely used in TV and movies as it retains a perfect line of simple terraced houses. It was used in an episode of the ITV drama series 'Poirot' called 'The Kidnapped Prime Minister' when Poirot visits his tailor 'Finglers' which is based in the street. Number 76 Quilter Street is the Victorian terraced house that Cynthia Rose Purley (Brenda Blethyn) lived in the Mike Leigh's 1996 film 'Secrets and Lies'. It formed the backdrop to some of the most dramatic scenes in the film about a black optometrist who discovers her birth mother is a white working class woman.
