The Courtyard Of The Elements is an art project called Neustadt Kunsthofpassage, Dresden, Germany. Neustadt Kunsthofpassage has five themed courtyards, one of which contains this 'singing' house. The others include a ‘Courtyard of Metamorphoses' and a 'Couryard of Mythical Creatures’.

It was created by sculptor Annette Paul and designers Christoph Rossner and André Tempel, who all live in the musical home. The facade features an intricate system of drains and funnels and when it rains the entire building becomes an instrument.

Ms Paul said she was inspired by her home in St Petersburg where she would listen to the ‘rain theatre’ of the pipes outside her home.
