The 'London Housing Design Guide' is a document produced by the office of the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, in 2010 in support of his committment to deliver more homes in London and to improving the quality of them.

The Interim London Housing Design Guide (2010) sets out the Mayor’s aspirations for the design of new housing in the capital and informed the Housing Strategy and Housing SPG (Nov 2012).

All new housing in London is expected to meet the design standards set out in the Housing SPG, which clarifies, consolidates and promotes policies for better neighbourhoods, high environmental standards, better accessibility and better design and includes new minimum standards for the amount of floor space and private outdoor space, as well as guidance on natural light and ceiling heights.

The final version of the guide will be published after the end of the DRLP Examination in Public and the finalisation of the HCA's Proposed Core Housing Design
