James Burton, the most prominent property developer in London of the early 19th century. His early milestones included the creation of Brunswick and Mecklenburgh Squares north of Bloomsbury as part of the rapid development of London's suburbs during the Regency period. He was father of another architect and developer Decius Burton with whom he worked in later life.
