Polychrome is a style of architectural brickwork which emerged in the late 1800s as part of the Gothic Revival architectual style. It introduced the use of different coloured bricks in bands across a facade and in geometric patterns such as diamond or criss-cross patterning. It was also used to highlight architectural features like doors, windows or to replicate the effect of quoining on the corners of buildings.
